Kirkland Lamont Bryant III, Born on September 30, 1993 at Cook County hospital in Chicago, Illinois on the Southside. His mother, Rosalyn and Father Kirkland Sr. did not have major impact in his life besides bringing him into this world. His father, like most young men had to try to find his way by avoiding gangbanging and going to jail which left him no time to be a father. His mother battled a serious drug addiction after graduation college as an accountant. At the age of 5 he moved with his grandmother full time, because it was best for him with the negative influences that grasps young men on the Southside of Chicago.
Beachwood elementary and finished middle school. After being told how athletically gifted he was he enrolled in one of the biggest high schools in the country: St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio.
St.Edwards provided him an environment with all men to focus on his goals of going to college and playing sports, furthering his career. He was challenged by the curriculum and peers from all over the state of Ohio. Sports is what attracted him most, being able to compete at a high level in basketball and football.
Kirkland graduate with an 3.0 gpa and scored a 26 on his Act, affording him the chance to attend any school he wanted for the most part. He was able to earn a full ride scholarship to play football for Eastern Michigan University.
Kirkland greatest gift was his son Kobe Bryant. Seeing how the system has affected his life his main goal is to be a role model for his son Kobe and to motivate him to want to be a freedom fighter against Injustice or anything he puts his mind to.
I will not be defined by my level of success.
"Success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best you are capable of becoming."- (Jim Tressell)
We were created to not just exist, but to live with purpose. We must never let goals, adversity, and success define us.
I greet all men and women in the name of peace, democracy and freedom for all races, ethnicities & nationalities. I stand now with the wisdom as a humble servant to my people and I sacrifice my life to this cause. I therefore place the remaining years of my life to the struggle for equality for all. I am unbroken and the struggle for all brothers and sister locked away in cages called rehabilitation facilities has just begun.
"Freedom without civility, freedom without the ability to live in peace, was not true freedom at all"
We as citizens of the nation are still suffering under an inhuman system divided by classes. Housing shortages, school funding crisis, unemployment and the crime rate is continuing to rise around the country
Kirkland is headed into politics to make a change to the system that is effecting so many. As a young man his hatred towards the evil people in positions of power caused him to head on a path of self destruction. This ultimately landed him in jail, multiple times. After years of imprisonment, physical and emotional abuse & separation from his family he was able to stop blaming others and be the change this world needed. He realized once he let go of the hate and forgave others entirely for their past transgressions against him, he was able to move forward and be completely free. They can take any materialistic things that have no value once your flesh has decreased, but your mind and heart is guarded by 'you'. The choice to give someone space in your mind or control of your heart is a self - decision. The oppressor is also a prisoner of prejudice and narrow-mindedness.
